On December 4, 1969, Charles Getz, aged 63, was found dead in Dayton, Ohio. He was the victim of a fatal shooting during an attempted robbery at a jewelry store. The incident occurred in Montgomery County, where Getz was the vice president of the jewelry store he owned. During the robbery, an unknown assailant shot him in the face and neck before escaping with an unspecified amount of money.
