On December 5, 1974, Arthur Breland, age 54, was shot and killed during what appears to have been a home invasion in Akron, Ohio. The incident took place at his residence at 1058 Mercer Avenue in Summit County. At approximately 10 p.m., Arthur was fatally shot inside his home. His wife was reportedly about to let the dogs out when someone knocked at the side door. Upon opening it, the suspect entered and committed the fatal shooting.
