Only four days into 2012, Cedric Dickson was shot and killed in front of his home.
On the evening of January 4, 2012, Cedric Dickson, a 54-year-old African-American male, returned to his Birmingham, Alabama home around 9:00 p.m. after spending part of the day working on his house and visiting a friend. As he pulled into his driveway, he was ambushed by two or three gunmen who were lying in wait. The assailants shot Dickson multiple times before stealing his handgun and cellphone and fleeing the scene.
