On May 5, 2002, Cheryl Huff, previously known as Cheryl Bebout, was discovered badly beaten near an oil well site on Huff Run Road, just outside Mineral City in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Cheryl had sustained severe head trauma and was found in critical condition. Prior to her assault, Cheryl had been seen at the "Hob Nob" bar in Canton, Ohio.
