James A. Gordon, a 27-year-old father, was tragically killed in Dayton, Ohio, on August 6, 2003. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Main Street and Fairview Avenue, where Gordon was targeted in an apparent carjacking attempt. At around 11:10 p.m., while Gordon was driving with his 13-year-old nephew in the passenger seat, an armed assailant approached the driver's side of his vehicle and began shouting at him.
