On June 4, 2023, Kevin Eugene Jones, 38, of Dayton, Ohio, died during a shooting incident at an apartment on Superior Avenue. Jones, along with Lawrence Davis, 22, and Riyadh Pate, 19, arrived at the apartment, where an exchange of gunfire ensued between them and the occupants. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, and four others sustained injuries but were reported in stable condition.
