On December 12, 2006, Samuel Hughes, a 31-year-old resident of Akron, Ohio, was found dead inside his home located on Dayton Street. The Akron Police Department was called to the scene around 2:15 p.m., where they found Hughes unresponsive. After further investigation, it was determined that he died as a result of blunt force trauma. This led investigators to classify his death as a homicide.
