A man fatally shot in Birmingham's Southtown public housing community has now been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Jeremy Stephen Omar Nicholas. The shooting happened early Monday morning.
Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards said South Precinct officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 23rd Street South at 5:27 a.m. on a report of a person being shot. Once on the scene, they found Nicholas near the sidewal ...Read More
