On May 1, 2017, Keon Jerome Mitchell, aged 25, was tragically killed in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred around 3:01 a.m. when Columbus Police Department officers and medics were dispatched to the 1900 block of Olde Coventry Road East in response to a shooting report. Upon arrival, officers found Keon Mitchell inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was immediately transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but sadly succumbed to his injuries at approximately 3:55 a.m.
The investigation revealed that Mitchell was shot near the intersection of Woodcrest Road and Myers Road. Despite the efforts of the responding officers and medical personnel, Keon's life could not be saved. His case was classified as a homicide, and the Columbus Police Department has continued efforts to gather more information that could lead to resolving the case. As of now, no suspects have been publicly identified, and the case remains open, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving the crime.
