On the evening of September 22, 2026, a dispute in Bradenton, Florida, ended with the deaths of two men, including Antonio Rosario. He was a 30-year-old male. Around 6:20 p.m., Bradenton police officers were called to the 400 block of 12th Avenue East after receiving reports of a shooting. Near the end of the dead-end road, they discovered Rosario and 43-year-old Willie Stubbs Jr., both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders pronounced Antonio Rosario dead at the scene. Willie Stubbs died while being transported to a local hospital. As detectives from the Bradenton Police Department and the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit began their work, they closed off the street to investigate the double homicide.

The investigation revealed that the shooting followed an ongoing dispute among Rosario, Stubbs, and a third man. According to witnesses, the men had met on 12th Avenue East, where a physical altercation began. Witnesses told police they then saw the third man fire several shots toward Rosario. Both Rosario and Stubbs were struck by the gunfire.

Police identified 34-year-old Jakourtney Johnson as the suspect. He had been in jail on unrelated drug warrants since September 26. After interviewing Johnson, who acknowledged knowing both victims but denied any part in the shooting, detectives arrested him. As of October 2026, Johnson was charged with two counts of second-degree murder with a firearm. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact Detective Brian Sands at [email protected] or to submit an anonymous tip to Manatee Crime Stoppers.
