On November 19, 2017, Martrise Maddox-Suddith, aged 24, was shot and killed outside the Grand Champion North Bar in the 2400 block of East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio. The shooting occurred after a dispute inside the bar escalated. Kailan Ellison was later charged with Maddox-Suddith's murder, but investigators are still seeking additional persons of interest related to the incident.
