On December 4, 2016, Bernard "Randy" Erby, aged 46, was killed in a homicide incident in Columbus, Ohio. At approximately 12:47 a.m., Columbus police officers were called to the area of 1052 Republic Avenue after receiving reports of a gunshot and spotting a man lying in the front yard. When the officers arrived, they found Bernard Erby unresponsive, having suffered a gunshot wound.
