On June 25, 2008, Darrel Christopher Barringer, age 33, was shot multiple times in a parking lot located on the 6000 block of Elgywood Lane in Charlotte, North Carolina. Barringer survived the initial attack and was transported to Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), where he underwent treatment.
