On July 23, 2008, 32-year-old James Robert Hunt was killed in Charlotte, North Carolina. His death was part of the city's rising homicide rate that year. Hunt's body was discovered in a parking lot located at the 6000 block of Elgywood Lane. The investigation revealed that Hunt was shot multiple times in what appeared to be a targeted attack.
