Joan Leslie Mack, a 28-year-old female, was killed in Santa Cruz County in October 1984 in a case that would remain without a publicly identified killer for more than three decades. On October 11, 1984, Mack's body was discovered at Beer Can Beach in the Aptos area of California. Authorities determined that she had suffered multiple stab wounds.
