On the afternoon of Friday, September 24, 1965, Alys Jean Eberhardt, an 18-year-old female nursing student, left her dormitory at the Hackensack Hospital School of Nursing around 2:30 p.m. to go to her family's home on Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
