The events of that morning unfolded after a distressing 911 call made by 53-year-old Ronald Williams Sr., who informed the dispatcher that he had killed his family and intended to take his own life. When officers from the Winfield Police Department arrived at the residence in the 400 block of West Ninth Avenue, they heard a single gunshot.
Upon entering the home, they discovered a devastating scene with six individuals, all deceased from gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as Kelly L. George and four children: 9-year-old Carol A. Williams, 7-year-old Ronald H. Williams Jr., 5-year-old Sarah K. Williams, and 3-year-old Kelly M. Magee-Williams. The sixth deceased individual was Ronald Williams Sr., who is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after law enforcement arrived.
