In the summer of 2026, the life of 30-year-old Jordan Elaine Wishon of Cliffside, North Carolina, came to a tragic end. Remembered as a woman with a lively spirit who loved others unconditionally, Jordan was a graduate of Mayland Community College and worked as a server. Her disappearance around June 26, 2026, from the Mooresboro area of Rutherford County, sparked a missing person investigation that would soon unearth a grim reality.
Investigators with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office began interviewing individuals and conducting searches, a process that led them to a residence on Pebblestone Lane in Rutherfordton. In the early morning hours of June 27, their search culminated in the discovery of human remains buried on the property, which were later positively identified as those of Jordan Wishon.
The investigation into her death quickly led to a suspect. On June 28, 2026, authorities secured an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Jaydakis Kashaune Hamilton of Rutherfordton, charging him with first-degree murder. At the time the warrant was issued, Hamilton was already incarcerated at the Polk County Detention Center on unrelated charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle and resisting a public officer. Friends and neighbors of Wishon remembered her as a sweet and helpful person, expressing their shock and anger over the alleged circumstances of her death. One neighbor noted frequent traffic at the home where her body was found.
As the investigation deepened, a network of individuals alleged to have aided Hamilton after the murder began to unravel. In the weeks that followed, seven more people were arrested in connection with the case. Among them were Christina Hamilton and Tiquah Carter, both charged with accessory after the fact. Four others, Alexis Nicole Morgan, Ronald David Gibson, Shadrick Deon Hines, and Stevon Wilkerson, faced charges of both accessory after the fact and failure to report a death. Later, an eighth person, Issaac Odell, was also charged with accessory after the fact. The case against Jaydakis Kashaune Hamilton and his alleged accomplices continues, as a community grapples with the violent loss of a young mother, leaving behind her beloved daughter and fiancé.
