In the late hours of a Tuesday in McComb, Mississippi, the life of 34-year-old Lavander "Van" Romone Lacking was tragically cut short. On May 5, 2026, gunshots shattered the night on Beech Street, near the intersection of LaBranch Street. Responders found Lacking critically wounded and rushed him to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
