In the early morning hours of May 8, 2026, a tragic and violent encounter in a Ferndale, Washington, apartment ended the life of 32-year-old Jordan Cernich. The incident unfolded around 3:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Ferndale Terrace, a residence Cernich shared with his girlfriend and her two children. The catalyst for the fatal events was the arrival of his girlfriend's ex-husband, Michael Steven Daniels Jr., a 49-year-old Whatcom County man.
