In the early hours of Thursday, May 21, 2026, the quiet community of Ivey in Wilkinson County, Georgia, was disturbed by an act of violence that claimed the life of 25-year-old Tylan ArTavious Horne. Authorities from the Wilkinson County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on Morningside Drive around 1:00 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Horne inside the home, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation suggested that the victim was shot once and was found in the living room of the residence.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was promptly called in to assist with the homicide investigation. Their preliminary findings indicated that an individual had entered the house and shot Horne. The investigation quickly focused on a person of interest, and later that same day, an arrest was made. The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Austin Marcus Allred, a resident of Ivey. Austin Marcus Allred has been charged with Malice Murder and Aggravated Assault in connection with the death of Tylan Horne.
