In the early morning hours of April 4, 2026, a tragic event unfolded in Pueblo, Colorado, resulting in the death of 41-year-old Amanda Leigh Manion. The incident, which also claimed the life of her estranged ex-husband, has been described by family as the result of a severe mental health crisis.
Pueblo Police officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of E. 4th Street after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a grim scene with two deceased individuals.
One victim was found in the street, while the other was located inside a vehicle. The victims were later identified by the Pueblo County Coroner as Amanda Leigh Manion and Glenn Allen Beeman Jr., age 40.
As the investigation into the double homicide began, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office received a report of a separate death in Pueblo West. There, they found a man who had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Preliminary information quickly linked this individual to the double homicide on E. 4th Street. The deceased man was identified as Glenn Allen Beeman III, the 19-year-old son of Amanda Manion and Glenn Beeman Jr. Authorities believe the son was responsible for the deaths of his parents before taking his own life.
In the wake of the tragedy, Amanda's brother, Eric Manion, stated that the incident was the "direct and cumulative result of a catastrophic failure within the mental health system." He revealed that his nephew, Glenn Beeman III, had suffered a "severe and complete mental collapse," which initiated the tragic sequence of events. According to Eric Manion, other family members were present and their "courageous actions successfully dissuaded Glenn III from causing further harm to others," before he ultimately took his own life.
Amanda Manion was a mother to other children as well. Just months before her death, she had shared a heartfelt birthday message to her son on social media, expressing her unconditional love. Her obituary remembers her as a woman with an unwavering faith who loved spending Sundays at church and had a passion for assisting those with disabilities. She was a devoted mother who loved her children with all her heart.
