In the quiet town of Decatur, Tennessee, the life of 58-year-old Jeffery Kendall Barton was abruptly ended on the evening of Saturday, April 5, 2026. Deputies from the Meigs County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Shiloh Road following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Barton suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
