Deandre Jeffries, a 22-year-old man from the Waterford community in Marshall County, was shot and killed on March 15, 2026. The incident occurred between 12:00 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. at CJ's Lounge on North Ida B. Wells Street. Jeffries sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.

Patrons inside the lounge reported seeing Jeffries fall to the ground but were initially unaware of what had happened. It wasn't until law enforcement arrived that they learned he had been shot.
