Danny Eugene Williams, 72, a man from Greensboro, was killed on March 22, 2026, in what became one of the city’s early-year homicide cases. That Sunday, around 4:26 p.m., police, firefighters, and Guilford County EMS were sent to the 3300 block of North O’Henry Boulevard, where they found him bleeding from what authorities described as an apparent gunshot wound.
First responders tried to save him there at the scene, but he died before he could be taken away, leaving investigators to begin piecing together what had happened in those final moments.
By the next day, detectives said they had identified a suspect and made an arrest. According to police, 36-year-old Passhion Michael Barr was taken into custody in the 3300 block of Trent Street in Greensboro and charged with first-degree murder in Williams’ death. Authorities said Barr also faced additional charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, simple possession, carrying a concealed weapon, and resisting arrest. He was being held in the Guilford County Jail without bond after the arrest.
