In a quiet San Antonio neighborhood on the Southeast Side, a dispute between neighbors escalated into a fatal encounter on the afternoon of Thursday, March 5, 2026. Jose Reyes, a 28-year-old man, was leaving his home in the 200 block of Lyric Avenue with a 30-year-old woman when gunfire erupted. Reyes was struck by multiple bullets and tragically died at the scene. The woman with him was also wounded, suffering a gunshot to her upper body, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
