In the early morning hours of March 5, 2026, a domestic disturbance in a Greenville, Indiana home escalated into a tragedy that left two men dead. Bradley Butler, a 53-year-old male, was shot and killed inside the residence located in the 6700 block of Georgetown-Greenville Road. Another man, 55-year-old Kelly Goode, was also found deceased at the scene, having also died from gunshot wounds.
Responding to a call about a shooting at approximately 5:45 a.m., officers from the Floyd County
Sheriff's Office discovered the two victims. The investigation quickly pointed to a suspect who was present at the home. The alleged shooter was identified as 23-year-old Easton Goode, who was the son of Kelly Goode and the stepson of Bradley Butler.
Accounts from that morning describe a chaotic scene that began hours before the fatal shots were fired. Easton Goode was reportedly intoxicated and behaving aggressively towards his mother and stepfather, Bradley Butler. A physical altercation occurred between Easton Goode and Butler, but they had seemingly reconciled. However, the situation later devolved, and Easton Goode is alleged to have fatally shot both his father and his stepfather.
Following the shooting, law enforcement was able to take Easton Goode into custody at the residence. He has since been charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of Bradley Butler and Kelly Goode. The case is now proceeding through the criminal justice system.
