In the Wolf Creek area of southwest Dallas, on the afternoon of Sunday, February 15, 2026, a sense of unease settled over the 1100 block of Holly Glen Circle. Dallas Police were called to the scene at approximately 12:59 p.m., where they discovered the body of 21-year-old Randy-Xsavious Ashley, a Black male and former student-athlete at Duncanville High School.
The preliminary investigation pointed to a fatal shooting as the cause of death.
The investigation into the death of Randy-Xsavious Ashley quickly focused on a person known to the victim. Investigators identified 40-year-old Reunterio Smith as the individual allegedly responsible for the shooting. The nature of the relationship between Ashley and Smith was not publicly disclosed by the authorities.
Less than a day after the discovery of Ashley's body, an arrest was made in connection with the case. On Monday, February 16, 2026, Reunterio Smith was taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder.
