In the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the city of Walla Walla, Washington, was rattled by a sudden act of violence that claimed the life of 49-year-old Arturo Serrato Martinez. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of North Sixth Avenue and West Elm Street at approximately 2:25 a.m. following a 911 call about an unconscious man lying near a vehicle.
