In the Payne-Phalen neighborhood of Saint Paul, Minnesota, a residence on the 900 block of York Avenue became the scene of the city's first homicide of 2026. On the afternoon of Saturday, January 31, 2026, police responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 2:25 p.m. Inside the home, they discovered Christ Hae, a 25-year-old Asian man, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the arrival of emergency responders, Hae was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Saint Paul Police Department's homicide unit is actively investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
