In the quiet lakeside community of Bridgeport, Texas, a domestic dispute on the night of Sunday, February 1, 2026, ended in the tragic death of 46-year-old Michael Thomas. A white male, Thomas sustained multiple gunshot wounds at his home on Trinity Circle. His wife of three years, 45-year-old Sandy Michael Williams, was subsequently arrested and charged with his murder.
The events unfolded after a verbal argument between the couple escalated into a physical altercation.
According to Williams' account to investigators, Thomas had pulled her to the floor by her ponytail. She stated that she had previously warned her husband that if he ever physically harmed her, it would be the last time. Following the alleged assault, Thomas went upstairs. Williams then retrieved a gun, followed him, and shot him.
It was Michael Thomas's own father who alerted authorities, calling 911 to report that his daughter-in-law had shot his son. When deputies from the Wise County Sheriff's Office arrived at the residence around 10 p.m., they found Williams on the porch and she was taken into custody without incident. Inside the home, they discovered Thomas's body.
During questioning, Williams was candid with investigators, reportedly stating, "My intent was exactly what I did." She further admitted that she "absolutely hoped" to kill him. Williams was booked into the Wise County Jail.
