On the evening of December 30, 2025, Ricardo Manuel Perez-Montalvan, a 31-year-old Latino man, was fatally shot in East Los Angeles. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. in the 4700 block of Telegraph Road. Perez-Montalvan was with three other adult men, seated inside a vehicle, when they were ambushed.
Multiple suspects approached the parked car and opened fire on the occupants. Perez-Montalvan suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The three other men in the vehicle were also wounded and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Two of the surviving victims were listed in critical condition, while the third was in stable condition.
Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene. They were last seen escaping in a vehicle heading northbound on Arizona Avenue. As of the latest available reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Ricardo Manuel Perez-Montalvan, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is actively investigating the homicide and has urged anyone with information to come forward. Investigators have not yet released a motive for the shooting.
