Ina Chambers, a 55-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on the evening of January 9, 2026, in a senseless act of violence outside the Gus Thornhill Funeral Home in East Point, Georgia. She was at the funeral home to drop off her daughter for a family member's viewing when the fatal shooting occurred. Remembered as a beloved grandmother, her last moments were an act of heroism as she pushed her two young grandchildren, aged 5 and 1, to safety when gunfire erupted.
