The circumstances surrounding Jordan Hadley's death are tragic, stemming from a domestic dispute. According to Kentucky State Police, an altercation occurred between Jordan and his father, 56-year-old Phillip Bruce Hadley, also of Columbia. The argument escalated, leading to Phillip Hadley allegedly shooting and killing his son. Authorities reported that the two had been involved in an ongoing conflict.
Following the incident, Phillip Hadley was arrested and charged with murder. He stated to investigators that his son had pushed him twice and was approaching him again when he drew a. 40 caliber handgun and fired. Phillip Hadley claimed he believed his son was reaching for a weapon, though investigators did not find one at the scene. He was subsequently lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail as the investigation by the Kentucky State Police continues.
