On the evening of Sunday, November 30, 2025, the celebratory atmosphere of a Second Line parade in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana, shifted abruptly to tragedy when gunfire broke out shortly after the procession had moved through the area. Destiny Dunn, a 26-year-old Black woman originally from Baton Rouge, was seated in the driver's seat of an SUV parked near the intersection of Magnolia Street and Washington Avenue when the shooting occurred.
