On December 1, 2025, authorities in Jackson, Mississippi, launched a homicide investigation following a violent incident in the city's second precinct. Officers from the Jackson Police Department responded to a call on the 200 block of Sollitt Street, where they discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The responding officers, including Detective Tommie Brown, secured the scene as emergency medical personnel arrived to attend to the injured individual.
