In the early morning hours of Saturday, December 6, 2025, a violent tragedy unfolded within a residence in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore. At approximately 5:39 a.m., authorities received a distress call from the 1800 block of McHenry Street, where a chaotic scene awaited first responders. Inside the home, police discovered four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, including 42-year-old Erika Power, a Black woman who was among the victims of what investigators
classified as a quadruple shooting. The severity of the incident was underscored by a harrowing 911 call placed by one of the wounded survivors, who desperately reported that he had been shot multiple times in the chest, arm, and leg and could not stop the bleeding.
Upon arrival, officers secured the location and attempted to render aid to the victims. One man, identified as 56-year-old Leroy Alexander, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. Erika Power was critically injured and hurriedly transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment; however, despite the efforts of medical personnel, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The violence left two other adults fighting for their lives—a 26-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were both taken to area hospitals where they were listed in critical but stable condition.
As of the days following the shooting, homicide detectives from the Baltimore Police Department had assumed control of the investigation but had not yet publicly identified a motive for the attack. No suspects were immediately taken into custody, and no arrests had been announced in connection with the deaths of Power and Alexander. Authorities continued to canvas the area and appealed to the community for any information that could lead to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the lethal gunfire that disrupted the quiet of the early morning.
