On Friday, December 12, 2025, a violent tragedy unfolded at a rural property on Forest View Drive in Catskill, New York, disrupting the peace of the small Hudson Valley community. The sequence of events began early that afternoon when Greene County 911 received a disturbing call at approximately 12:18 p.m. form an individual claiming to have killed his friends.
Authorities from the New York State Police, assisted by the Greene County Sheriff's Office, the Town of Cairo Police, and New York State Forest Rangers, immediately responded to the address provided by the caller to investigate the report of a potential shooting.
Upon arrival at the scene, which was identified as the location of the Specter K-9 dog boarding and training facility, law enforcement officials approached a trailer situated on the grounds. Inside, they discovered the lifeless body of 22-year-old Connor Provo, who had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Provo was identified as the individual who had placed the emergency call just moments before taking his own life. The discovery prompted a further search of the premises to locate the other individuals mentioned in the call.
Investigators then entered a double-wide building located on the same property, where they found two additional victims who had sustained fatal injuries. The deceased were identified as Clifford Beauchard, 34, and Justin Acevedo, a 19-year-old male. Autopsies later confirmed that both victims, along with the gunman, had died from gunshot wounds to the head. The preliminary investigation indicated that the three men were co-workers at the canine training center, and Acevedo was noted to be the son of the facility's owner.
Detectives determined that the incident was a double murder-suicide, concluding that Provo shot both Beauchard and Acevedo before turning the weapon on himself. While the specific motive behind the violence remained under investigation, police stated that they were not seeking any other suspects in connection with the deaths. The case was left open as authorities continued to examine the circumstances that led a young man to end the lives of his friends and colleagues.
