In Lufkin, Texas, a dispute escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving one man dead and another facing a murder charge. On the evening of Thursday, November 6, 2025, 55-year-old Tyrone Williams was shot and killed. The incident occurred in a shared parking area between houses in the 200 block of Bowles Street.
According to Lufkin police, a verbal argument between Williams and another man, identified as 49-year-old DeMarcus Jones, turned into a physical altercation.
During the fight, Jones allegedly shot Williams. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Williams with multiple gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries at the location.
Witnesses at the scene identified Jones as the shooter. Jones had left the area before police arrived, but investigators were able to track him to an apartment in the 500 block of Charlton Street. Detectives observed Jones leaving the apartment and arrested him. A weapon of the same caliber as the casings found at the scene was recovered nearby.
DeMarcus Jones has been charged with murder and is being held in the Angelina County Jail. Funeral services for Tyrone Williams Jr. have been scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin.
