Durante Schofield, 32, a Black male, was shot and killed just after midnight on October 30, 2025, in the parking lot of the Pharr Apartments in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. Officers had responded moments earlier to a 911 call from Schofield’s girlfriend about a domestic dispute inside the apartment. While police were speaking with the couple, Schofield’s father, 54-year-old Durante Tolliver, arrived; father and son went downstairs to the lot, and officers soon heard a burst of gunfire.
