In the predawn hours of Monday, October 6, 2025, Rodney Logan, a 57-year-old White/Caucasian male from Augusta, Kansas, was fatally shot at El Dorado Lake. Deputies from the Butler County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Goose Cove campsite in the Bluestem Point area of the lake around 4:10 a.m. following a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Rodney Logan with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
