In the early morning hours of October 8, 2025, the body of 68-year-old Jerry B. Lee was discovered in a ditch near his home on Abram Ford Drive in Jackson, Mississippi. An investigation by the Jackson Police Department revealed that Lee had been the victim of a brutal attack, having been shot and stabbed multiple times. This violent act marked the city's 48th homicide of the year.
