In the small town of Forkland, Alabama, the community was shaken by the violent death of 31-year-old Boris Moody. On a Monday in October, the familiar aisles of the local Dollar General on Highway 43 became a crime scene. It was inside this store that Moody was shot multiple times, his life brought to an abrupt and tragic end.
The Forkland Police Department requested the assistance of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. Their investigation quickly pointed to 28-year-old Jamal Lee of nearby Demopolis as the suspect.
Following the investigation, Lee was arrested and charged with the murder of Boris Moody. He was subsequently booked into the Greene County Jail. While an arrest has been made, authorities have indicated that additional charges could be pending as the investigation continues. The findings of the State Bureau of Investigation will be turned over to the Greene County District Attorney for prosecution.
