Olivia Lacey, 36, a female Navy sailor, was found fatally shot on the evening of Friday, October 10, 2025, in a residential area of the Great Lakes naval housing complex in North Chicago, Illinois. First responders from North Chicago police and the Naval Station Great Lakes Fire Department arrived around 8:08 p.m. to the 2300 block of California Avenue, where officers discovered the bodies of Lacey and a man later identified as John Taylor, 39, on or near a sidewalk close to California Avenue
and Wisconsin Drive. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
