Monique Charles, a 47-year-old woman, was shot and killed on the morning of October 12, 2025, in the 1700 block of Imperial Drive in Silver Spring, Maryland. Police say she was leaving a residence when an assailant approached her outside and opened fire multiple times; responding officers found her suffering from gunshot wounds and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities identified her as a resident of Brooklyn, New York, who had been in the area that morning.
