Darlene Ferrin, aged 22, was tragically murdered on July 5, 1969, in Vallejo, California. She and her friend, Michael Mageau, were parked at Blue Rock Springs Park when they were approached by an unknown assailant just after midnight. The attacker, later identified as the Zodiac Killer, fired multiple shots at the couple. While Mageau survived the attack with severe injuries, Ferrin was shot five times and was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the hospital.
