Donald Johnson, a 46-year-old Oakland resident, was fatally shot on January 5, 2011, in West Oakland. He was found in a parked car on the 1600 block of Center Street, and was pronounced dead at the scene. His death marked the third homicide in Oakland in 2011, during a year that saw a total of 110 homicides—reflecting ongoing violence in the city that primarily affected East and West Oakland.
