Gary Hill, a White male, was shot and killed on the morning of Sunday, June 15, 2025, after stepping in to help during an attempted carjacking at the Liberty Stop-N-Go in Stateline, Idaho, near the Washington–Idaho border. Authorities described him as a good Samaritan who saw a woman in distress and moved to intervene; the gunman opened fire, killing Hill at the scene.
