In the early morning hours of May 27, 2025, the life of 30-year-old Alexis Johnson was tragically cut short in what police have described as a murder-suicide. The incident unfolded at her home on Myrtle Greens Drive in Conway, South Carolina, a place that should have been a sanctuary.
Horry County Police officers were dispatched to the residence around 3 a.m. after a concerned neighbor reported a disturbance.
According to the neighbor's report, Johnson and her roommate had been involved in an altercation earlier in the day. The situation escalated tragically when the neighbor heard gunshots and promptly alerted the authorities.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a grim scene. Both Alexis Johnson and her roommate were found deceased inside the home. The Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner, Tamara Willard, confirmed that Johnson was killed by her roommate, who then took their own life. The name of the roommate has not been publicly released.
Born in New York City on June 24, 1994, Alexis had moved to Conway and attended public schools in both Conway and Yonkers, New York.
