In the early morning hours of July 29, 2025, the quiet of a Jackson, South Carolina neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to these reports at approximately 2:11 a.m., deputies from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office arrived at the 5000 block of North Silverton Street to a grim discovery. There, in the driveway of his own home, they found 27-year-old Dequon Hill, a Black/African American male, unresponsive in the driver's seat of his vehicle.
He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the swift arrival of law enforcement, nothing could be done to save the young man's life. Dequon Hill was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:40 a.m. The Aiken County Coroner's Office confirmed that his death was a result of the gunshot wounds he suffered.
